So there I was, enjoying the day in the happiest place on earth.
Yup — Disney World.
You’ve seen my posts about prime Disney napping places.
I’m not talking about a “real” nap. Just a place to catch a few minutes.
Trust me, during the day with all the walking and standing AND waiting, you just need a few minutes.
But I did something else this time.
Thought it worked out well.
Until…
I got busted.
Busted by the Disney Police.
I wasn’t arrested.
I wasn’t detained.
Nope — I was SCOLDED.
By the Disney Police.
And by Disney Police, I mean my daughter Kate.
I took a jar of peanut butter with me to Hollywood Studios.
No metal on the container, so it went through security just fine.
Besides, you’re allowed to take food into the park.
It was just one jar of peanut butter.
And while I was waiting in line, I’d open it, put my finger in it and get a small amount of peanut butter.
I don’t want a whole sandwich.
Just enough protein to satisfy my dietary guidelines.
But then…
BUSTED!!!
“Dad — stop it.”
Me, surprised:
“Stop what?”
“The peanut butter!!!”
“What are you talking about?”
“What about people with peanut allergies?”
OK.
Listen.
I’m not going to disparage anyone with a peanut allergy.
I’ve seen The Big Bang Theory. I know what happened to Howard.
But it’s one jar.
It’s just me, and I’m not waving it around.
I’m keeping it contained in my own space, using my own finger.
Yes, I dip my own finger in it.
I also have hand sanitizer in my bag and a few napkins.
I’m not passing it around for random strangers to dip their own fingers into.
That would be weird.
So I continued enjoying my peanut butter.
And Kate continued being the Disney Police.
I mean, apparently I’m embarrassing her again.
Not the first time she’s told you that.
And most likely not the last.
But I was just a guy in the park with a jar of peanut butter.
Although, I gotta tell you…
I was on the lookout for a guy walking around with a chocolate bar.
