Dozing off the other night, jeez, I had a craving for a salmon sandwich.
Now, not your ordinary sandwich, but a salmon sandwich from this place I used to go to.
Let me tell you about it.
Raw salmon, romain lettuce, capers and a type of mustard sauce (I don’t remember what type of mustard sauce) on a super fresh Italian roll.
Good? ….. You have no idea how good this sandwich was.
BUT – that isn’t what kept me up at night the next night.
I was at the Food Lion soon after.
*Spoiler Alert – I love going to the grocery store.
And while at the grocery store, I was looking at prices to think about making this sandwich soon, and I came across the capers.
Saw the jar, small jar, which was cool, because it would be just me, but the label said specially Non Pareil Capers.
Well, that’s disappointing.
I wanted the ones with the pareils.
Why are these capers specifically noted that they are “Non” Pareil?
Nobody ever explains where the pareils went.
Did they fall off?
Are they sold separately?
Is there a premium version hidden behind the counter?
This is like buying boneless wings.
At some point somebody decided we’d all just accept that parts of the product were missing and keep shopping.
I don’t even know what a pareil is, but now I feel like I’m getting cheated out of one.
Once again, is Corporate America trying to get the better of me?
Do they think I don’t notice?
If I had more time, I’d get to the bottom of this.
Corporate America is lucky – THIS TIME !!!
See, now it’s Capers with the Pareils sold separately, next it will be core-less apples with the cores sold separately.
