Lots going on these days.
Sometimes I have random thoughts and other times I have actual updates on already made posts.
My random thoughts might not be deserving of their own posts – so I try and group them together to make it easier for my valued readers to digest.
Update 1 – Still no snake superpowers. Seriously. What gives? I’ve been patient and I keep thinking “todays the day” – but NOTHING!!!!! It’s only Feb. so 2025 is still in it’s early stages. So I’m saying there’s a chance. But this is some Grade-A Level BS.
Random Thought 1 – Who likes the music group Squeeze. Show of hands …… The other day I spent most of the day painting, no saws and no drills and I had my speaker and I could hear music throughout the house. So I asked Alexa to play Squeeze and they put on a random mix of Squeeze songs. I’ve always liked them, but jeez ….. have you ever noticed just how many songs they have about breakups? Seriously. Lots and lots of songs about breakups. And many are because of alcohol use but if not a breakup because of alcohol use, then it’s a song about heavy alcohol use after the breakup. Seriously – Their biggest hits are about drinking and break-ups.
Update 2 – of things I’ve never done, I’ve never had a meatball sandwich. I love meatballs and I like sandwiches, but I’ve never had a meatball sandwich. Nothing against them. I don’t think of them as weird or anything, but I’ve just never ordered one.
Update 3 – The Cambridge WaWa is still a site to behold. It’s an interesting place.
Random Thought 2 – I really don’t enjoy what NIL is doing to college sports. NIL (Name, Image and Likeness). I don’t like college athletes changing schools all the time. I miss the 4 year player. This school took the time and effort to recruit a player. The school gave this player a position that they could have given to another player, but they chose THAT player and who knows, it’s possible another player missed out of an opportunity. Where is the sense of loyalty? It’s another example of money ruining something.
Random Thought 3 – the best sax solo in a song – THE BEST – is in Grover Washington’s, “Just the Two of Us”. And I stand by that.
Random Thought 4 – one of the most underrated female vocalists is Harriet Wheeler, lead vocalist of The Sundays.
Update 4 – Shoulder still hurt. Rotator cuff tear – still torn. The outreach and well whishes from everyone has been overwhelming.
Random Thought 5 – I’m still working on my sarcasm. Is it improving?
Update 5 – January was an injury free work place month. And so far, no accidents or injuries in February. No ladders fallen off of, no floors fallen through, no saw mishaps and no missed swings of a hammer.
Random Thought 6 – driving one day I heard Art Garfunkle sing, “I Only Have Eyes For You” – and WOW, I was blown away. Smooth and soulful. GREAT sound. What I really liked most about it was that he made a one syllable word a one syllable word. Just carried the sound out nice and smooth. I think that’s a lost art. I just can’t listen to Mariah Carey. Yes, she’s got a huge voice; but the making a two syllable word 16 syllables – I don’t like it. I’m not a hater, I just don’t like listening to her.
