I Was Wrong.

Yes.  Me.  I was wrong.

I know what you’re thinking.  You’re thinking, “No, that can’t be.  If there is one thing I have learned from BecauseJimSays.com it’s that Jim is never wrong.”

NEVER wrong.

But oh no.

In fact, Lisa has been rumored to be starting her own blog, BecauseJimIsWrong.com.

I’m man enough to admit when I was wrong.

But I didn’t think it would be about this.

On this one, I thought I had it.

I thought I knew what was what.

I thought that while change is good and change happens, nothing would change this.

NOT THIS.

It was an original.

It was the classic.

It was the OG.

See, I enjoy the classics.

I like the original.

I’m not a fan of when a band redoes another song and tries to make it a hit.  I like the original.  Sometimes I won’t even listen to the remake.

I like the original.

Jim – What in the world are you talking about?

Well.

The other day Charlotte was going on a field trip and she needed snacks for the long bus trip.  She went the The Lion with me.

*Side Note 1 – you’ve heard me talk of my fondness for The Lion, right?  The Food Lion, our local grocery store.

Charlotte thought Goldfish would make a good snack.  As I reached for the original GoldFish, you know, the cheddar cheese flavored, I was beaten to the shelf by Charlotte who grabbed a different bag.  Ok – to each their own.  I placed mine back on the shelf and just looked at the number of different Goldfish varieties.

Good Boogaliemoogalie.  I knew there were multiple flavors, but I had no idea.  I just did a Google search and found there have been 53 Goldfish Flavors.

*Side Note 2 – Some were limited edition

Think about that.  There have been 53 Goldfish flavors.

I just shook my head, thinking of the post I needed to think about writing.

So I figured, perhaps a nice block of Brie and some crackers would hit the spot.

Found some brie and it was off to get some crackers.

Triscuits are my favorite and as per usual, I prefer the original.  I bypassed the different varieties and stuck with the original Triscuit.

I don’t mind the different Goldfish flavors and the different Triscuit flavors, but me, I stick with the originals.

But there is one snack food that I thought would never do me wrong.

One snack food that won’t go off-rail and change and create stupid flavor spin-offs.

See, why mess with perfection.

I don’t eat them daily.  In fact, I don’t even eat them weekly, but I do enjoy Funyuns.

Yes, Funyuns, those onion flavored rings that pack both a crunch and a mouthful of oniony flavor.

I didn’t want to get them but SON OF A BISCUIT – there they were.

Different flavors of Funyuns.  Flaming Hot and Spicy Queso.

No No No.

What are they doing?

Why mess with perfection?

I’ll not be tempted to buy these new fangled Funyuns.

No.

Funyuns have never steered me wrong.

Why must we mess with perfection?

Enough is enough.

Sometimes too much is too much.

53 Flavors of Goldfish.

I don’t know, 7 maybe 8 different types if Triscuits.’

And now 3 different varieties of Funyuns.

What will they ruin next?

Please tell me they’ve left Doritos alone.
