When looking into trying to improve BecauseJimSays I saw something about changing the font.
Um…… nah.
I don’t like serifs too much.
You know, the serif, the little hooks that are on certain letters. I try not to use fonts that have them.
I don’t have a choice of fonts on my blog.
It changes my posts into it’s font, and the font they use has a serif.
I do find serifs annoying, but not so annoying that I want to search another posting platform.
WAY to much effort on my part. So, nah….
Plus, this platform has good prices, and with help from cousin Andrew, my blog is laid out in a way that makes it ok to use.
Not perfect, but perfectly ok.
On a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being a “OH HELL NO” and 1 being “eh… not biggie”, I’d say the serif is a “1” for me.
I wonder what other things might annoy me, and what the level might be.
Ok – I feel my post is going to be about something else.
In no particular order, but I’ll number them on my “Jim Annoyance Scale”
3 – when my salt shaker gets caked up. Annoying yes, but I deal with it. I don’t like going to a restaurant and they have the fancy-smancy salt grinder thingee. I just want regular iodized thin table salt on my table.
7 – wet shoes – I find wet shoes very annoying. I especially dislike morning dew in early mornings. I deal with it, because I’m not going to actually throw my shoes away, but I keep a pair of slip-on shoes by the door that I can slip on and off for that brief trip outside in the mornings, like trash morning.
6 – watching sports with someone that THINKS they know something about that sport – but clearly does not. AND WON’T STOP TALKING
4 – Servers at a restaurant that don’t/won’t fill my drink. It escalates to a ‘6’ when they walk right by
5 – undercooked chicken wings. That number escalates when you ask for them to be cooked more.
5 – long lines and people around me get testy and act like a fool. IT’S A LINE – WE’RE ALL IN IT TOO!!!
9 – charging cords that break.
*Side Note 1 – Seriously- why do all of my devices require a separate cord connection?
8 – Automated Phone answering when I just want a live person. NO NO NO. I will do without.
8 – items on a store shelf that are not priced. This might actually be more of a pet-peeve.
5 – passwords. Seriously? Enough with the passwords. I understand the need for some passwords, like my debit card, I get that. But some are ridiculous. The fact that I get the reason for some keeps this from being a full on 10
2 – the “zipper method” when 2 lines of cars need to form a single line. Now, myself, I don’t mind it. But my annoyance with it is OTHER drivers that don’t understand the zipper line concept.
3 – the expression, “At the end of the day”. I cringe at that saying.
5 – people being late.
I’m not even sure how this started. I merely wanted to find a way to make my blog more appealing and instead I start listing my annoyances, with my “Annoyance Scale”. Don’t get me wrong, I do want to change the look of my blog and somehow improve not only how it looks, but how it operates too.
One of these days I’m going to stay on topic.
3 – people that won’t stay on topic
